• Efficient support to electoral processes to organize free, fair, and transparent elections. • Timely, responsive, balanced, objective, and high-quality and logistical support provided in the field of electoral activities. • All electoral matters recorded and compiled at the end of the electoral mandate. • Operation plans fully functional and implemented. • All UN assets retrieved after the completion of mission mandate. • Lessons learned in terms of managerial issues presented.

Under the responsibility of the Director Electoral Affairs Division and the direct supervision of the Senior Electoral Officer in charge of Planning and Operations, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: • The Electoral regional coordinator will operate as field coordinator in the northern and centre regions of Mali and as the focal point of Electoral Division MHQ in assigned MINUSMA regional offices. He/she ensures technical, logistical, security and capacity building operations in regional level. He channels operational requests from the fields to the appropriate structures or persons within the Electoral Affairs Division and provides first level technical advice to address the electoral issues raised in the field. Reporting to EAD chief electoral operation. He/she collects relevant documents and provide analyses on operational issues at the regional level and responds to those challenges by proposing sound and pragmatic solutions per UN standards, rules, and regulations. He/she advises regional EMBs on all activities related to electoral operations for the holding credible and transparent elections in Mali. He/she performs other related duties as required.

• in electoral operations or administration and familiarity with election related legislation and international standards in the election field is required. • A minimum of (3) years’ experience in civic education and sensitization is required. • Good knowledge of electoral processes, field, and electoral logistics experience.

Bamako is a non-family duty station with a difficult security and working environment. Mali is a non-family duty station. Living conditions are acceptable in Bamako, but security instructions need to be strictly complied with. Adequate housing is available for rent at US$ 500-1500 per month. The national currency is the Franc CFA (April 2021 exchange rate was 1 US$ = 600 FCFA). Visa credit cards are accepted in some hotels and larger shops. Mali is a country prone to malaria, so mosquito nets are highly recommended. Basic medicines are available from pharmacies, but provision needs to be made for specialized medication. Security recommendations from the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) must be followed by all UN Staff in the course of their assignments in Mali. For the sake of rewarding experience, UN volunteers in MINUSMA carry out their duties with flexibility, commitment, and a willingness to live and work in challenging conditions including heat and limited water and electricity supply.
