JOB PURPOSE

To support the delivery of a professional, client-focused HR services, partnering with managers to implement HR solutions in line with WFP corporate priorities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Head of HR Unit and the, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • In close consultation with the Head of HR and in collaboration with other HR colleagues and unit managers, contribute to defining the people/HR management plan, specifically in relation to talent acquisition and employer branding activities.
  • Contribute to the training of WFP Lebanon HR staff capability building on Talent Acquisition, Systems and Data, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to meet current and future challenges related to Talent Acquisition (employer branding, sourcing, outreach, recruitments).
  • Identify and handle direct talent searches as well as full cycle recruitment, ensuring adherence to standard WFP policies processes.
  • Establish strong working relationship and constant communication with hiring managers to ensure internal stakeholders’ satisfaction with regards time-to-fill and quality of hires.
  • Contribute to the Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding weekly reports that update and alert stakeholders about the challenges and opportunities in these areas.
  • In close collaboration with the talent acquisition team, ensure that all vacancies announcements are sound and inspiring for the purpose of attracting best talent with a focus on gender.
  • Further streamline talent acquisition sourcing strategies and approach by using new technologies, social media, software and networks, to identify, attract, and hire the best talent.
  • Train the talent acquisition team to implement data driven and proactive talent sourcing approaches, to use contemporary talent acquisition tools & technologies and to effectively use social media platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relevant talent pools by identifying macro-level opportunities from demographic trends, labour market analysis, diaspora, diversity partnership opportunities etc.
  • Support developing and maintaining strong relationships that include outreach to schools, education institutions, targeted diversity organizations, professional associations and other recruiting sources to ensure sourcing produces a strong talent pipeline.
  • Contribute to upskilling Hiring Managers capabilities on Talent Acquisition (e.g. interviewing skills, unconscious biases, etc.).
  • Guide and supervise junior staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with analysis and queries.
  • Contribute to deliver internal applicant trainings to provide transparency on WFP selection processes and equip them with the skills to better prepare themselves for competitive selection.
  • Undertake field missions related to talent acquisition and employer branding project as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/courses.

Experience: Typically, one or more years of postgraduate professional experience in Human Resources with an interest in international humanitarian development.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English. Fluency in another UN language is a plus.

DESIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of HR best practices, techniques, and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background.
  • Creative problem solver, flexible and constructive approach
  • Experience in sourcing and recruiting.
  • Demonstrated success developing effective outreach strategies.
  • Ability to leverage social media to connect with diverse communities to brand and market organization and jobs.
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems, technology, and sourcing tools.
  • Ability to support more junior and/or less experienced members of the team.
  • Basic analytical ability to compile, maintain analyze data, prepare reports, and draw initial conclusions in support of work carried out by another officer; skills in developing sources for data collection.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and adapt communication style to different situations and individuals. Ability to quickly build credibility with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritize multiple stakeholder requests.
