You have:

  • Native in Chinese and fluent in English is required.

The Web Platforms team of UNEP is seeking three Online Volunteers to support our work in translation, revision and terminology management, specifically by translating content of www.unep.org and affiliated sites from English to Chinese. We are looking for candidates who can offer meticulous translation and language revision and support precise terminology management, thus enhancing the accuracy, clarity and consistency of our websites across languages. To this end, the Online Volunteers will be expected to: - translate and review translations of assigned web pages, including graphics, photo captions, tags, SEO descriptions etc; - follow UNEP terminology and language practice, including proposing new terms to include in our terminology lists; and - ensure translations are accurate and in line with our communication guidelines. The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with links to web pages in the original language, along with requested timelines for completion, and will receive guidance on UNEP terminology, communications guidelines, as well as other guidance as needed. NB: Online Volunteers who deliver automated translations from Google or other AI tools will be disqualified and their assignment terminated.
