You have:
- Native level command of French and/or Spanish is essential.
- Demonstrated experience working with large documents, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Experience in the translation or publications field is desirable.
- Knowledge of terminology used in the UN, UNEP and the CMS Secretariat.
- Past experience with CMS is highly desirable.
- The individual contractor should have editing and writing skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
Six individual contractors will support the CMS Secretariat during the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15), taking place in Campo Grande, Brazil from 23 – 29 March 2026. The meeting will be held in the 3 official CMS languages (English, French and Spanish). The individual contractors will be part of the translation team onsite and will translate official documents from English into French and/or Spanish and vice versa during the meeting. Qualifications/special skills
Demonstrated experience working with large documents, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Experience in the translation or publications field is desirable. Past experience with CMS is a highly desirable. The individual contractor should have editing and writing skills, experience and be used to paying great attention to details and accuracy. Knowledge of terminology used in the UN, UNEP and the CMS Secretariat.
Languages
Native level command of French and/or Spanish is essential. UN, UNEP and CMS terminology must be respected and coherency in the vocabulary used must be maintained. Verification of terminology and accuracy of quotations reproduced are responsibility of the Translator team. In case of text ambiguity, the Translator team should contract the officer requesting the work for clarification, preferably by email. The Translator team member will use the official documents of the CMS, UNEP and UN as reference sources. These documents are published in the following website www.cms.int (CMS).
