UNESCO Ramallah Office is supporting the Palestinian Ministry of Education in updating the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP). In this context, the Ministry requires a new simulation model that can: forecast the development of its fundamental educational system data; identify developmental requirements based on educational policies and scenarios that will achieve the new goals and objectives; and estimate the resource implications of its planned actions and determine the strategy to finance them with domestic and external resources. UNESCO offers technical assistance and capacity building support to the Ministry of Education in estimating the resources associated with education policies and plans using Excel-based education simulation models. This training workshop aims at introducing the key concepts and techniques used in simulation modelling and its implications for policies and planning in the Palestinian education sector.
