UNESCO, Ramallah Office has selected early grade digital storybooks, which will be uploaded by the organization to “Ta3mal” platform. This task will help advance in the effort to provide distance learning education and to increase the national learning outcomes especially for facilitating early age reading. To ensure the digital storybooks are written in a concise, clear and good understandable way, we are looking for two experienced volunteers who support us with the proofreading of these early grade digital storybooks in Arabic of around 250 words each. The candidates may be asked also to translate different documents, including concept notes, articles, messages and data from English into Arabic and from Arabic into English.

Translation and interpretation
The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the need for openly available early grade reading resources in languages children mostly use at home. In response to this need, a collaboration between UNESCO, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), ADEA, UNHCR, The Global Book Alliance as well as other partners, has established the initiative ‘Translate a Story’, to help organize the translation and proofreading of openly licensed high-quality early grade reading books into different national languages. This initiative is intended to accompany countries’ efforts in improving the ability of early age reading, particularly during the current COVID-19 pandemic where most of the children are confined at home and therefore need to get reading materials available in local languages and universally accessible through various media.
