The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is looking for a qualified National Intern to support the communication and operations sections during emergency COVID-19 outbreak in Lao PDR. The duration of this assignment is 6 months and to be based in our office in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The National Intern will provide support to UNICEF Laos country office with a wide range of tasks related to logistics, personnel, administration and communication during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Supply/Logistics:

- Assist in logistics arrangement of COVID vaccine shipments and other emergency supplies

- Assist in procurement filling documents and tracking record

- Assist in monitoring all procurement of supplies and distributing them to staff and partners, including PPE stock

- Participate in pre- and post-inspection of goods together with supply team, programme and partners

Admin:

  • Provide support with admin archives/filing system and tracking record
  • Support in managing office stationery, equipment stock and office PPE, including the distribution
  • Support with the office maintenance activities
  • Assist with other administrative related activities as and when required

    HR/Personnel:

- Consolidate the office attendance records

- Assist HR unit with managing archives and filing system,

- Support on documentation related to consultancies’ management (required documentation and vacancy announcement)

Communication:

  • Provide support to assess and evaluate all the applications for the Individual Long-Term Agreements.
  • Consolidate all the ratings for the different categories (writers, copy editors, photographers, videographers and graphic designers) in one matrix and help complete the selection process.
  • Support the institutional bidding for content production houses.
  • Support the communication team translate documents into Lao.
  • Support to develop communication materials.

Results/Expected Outputs:

  • Enhanced filing, archiving and monitoring systems in operations in the areas of supply, HR and administration.
  • Consolidated attendance report available
  • Stocks maintained, supplies distributed as and when required
  • LTA selection process completed for individuals and institutions.
  • Lao translations completed as required.
  • Communication materials developed as needed.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Enrolled in a degree programme in an undergraduate or graduate school, or be a recent graduate.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficient in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages: English, French or Spanish and fluent in the working language of the office they are applying to.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
