Local - Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term)Job Description:

Undertake the conceptualization, innovative planning, and proper community mobilization in implementing JF project and guide and supervise field assistance and also government staff in mobilizing community, beneficiary selection, seed supplier identification and input distribution.

Coordinate proper and timely implementation of input distribution as per the donor requirement, facilitate the implementation of the project as per the quality standard of the donors and WV.

Ensure proper documentation of beneficiary screening, input distribution and other project meetings.

Provide technical support in the area of food security and economic development for the project, building staffs and partner capacity through technical support and training in the area of crops, vegetable and Natural Resource Management production and to ensure smallholder farmers have knowledge on improved agriculture practices improved, farming as business, trained and get access to agricultural inputs (seed and tools).

Facilitate the natural resource management improved with landscape approach and improvement of food utilization knowledge and practices among communities, implement and coordinate proper planning, monitoring, and reporting of the project activities and prepare work plan, DIP and procurement plan for the project.

Prepare and submit quality project report as per the report requirement of the project, build and maintain effective relationships with implementing partners, staffs and stakeholders during the period of this project and ensure that the project beneficiaries’ identification and selection is done based on gender sensitivity and disability consideration as requires by grant protocol and women are required in this project throughout the implementation phases.

Ensue proper budget planning and expenditure monitoring for the economic development component of the project

Qualifications

Degree in Agronomy or Agriculture or related field but with direct food security experience Minimum 2 years’ with similar experience as project officer in the area of food security and livelihoods.

Knowledge and experience in facilitating training in crop, vegetable, Natural Resource Management, mother garden, food utilization and farming as business, seed multiplication, breeding, adaptive trial, tubers, vegetable production, Financial services, gender and disability, market linkages and nutrition

Experience of establishing demonstration sites, adaptive trial, seed multiplication, farmer field schools.

Experience of facilitating Post Distribution Monitoring and timely report

Knowledge and experience in Child Protection emergencies is an added advantage.
