World Vision Solomon Islands is recruiting Youth Leadership Partnering Coordinator to work on a possible new USG DRL-funded project that supports the meaningful political and civic participation of youth in the Solomon Islands for an estimated timeframe of 24-36 months. The project will be implemented in Honiara City and Malaita Province, but with connects beyond these two locations. The position will guide the implementation of the new USG DRL-funded project on youth leadership.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for building networks and capacity of other partners and stakeholders in order to ensure sustainability of program impact. This role will report to and actively support the Snr Project Manager - Youth Leadership. The position is based in Honiara and would be expected to spend around 75% of the time in the targeted locations and with targeted partners.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementation of the program activities
  • Provide technical support to the Facilitators/Project Coordinators
  • Strengthen partner engagement and ownership
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of the program

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

  • 5 years relevant work experience, working on community development projects in the field
  • Experience working with youth programming including hands on operations.
  • A bachelor's degree or Diploma
  • Strong command of report writing in English
  • Excellent networking and diplomacy skills.
  • Good knowledge of community development
  • Knowledge of youth leadership
  • Strong knowledge in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • High level of organizational and management skills
  • Must be a team builder committed to the transfer of knowledge
  • Good training and facilitation skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new knowledge and skills
  • Willing to travel around the province and visit / stay in communities (up to 75% of time).
