Currently, AMRAN NGO co-chairs the Afghanistan Civil Society Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition (ACSA-FSN). AMRAN is, therefore, fervently dedicated to advancing food security and nutrition in Afghanistan. Recognizing education as a pivotal component in this journey, the organizations are eager to develop digital educational resources. These modules aim to spread knowledge about food systems, crop nutrition, and biodiversity, and to arm individuals with advocacy strategies that can enact real change.
To that end, AMRAN seeks to collaborate with Online Volunteers, with expertise in digital content curation and in-depth knowledge of agricultural, to design digital modules
Specifically, the Online Volunteers will be assigned with the following tasks: - Collaborating with agricultural experts and digital content specialists to design comprehensive digital modules. - Elucidating key aspects of food systems, nutritional crop cultivation, biodiversity, and advocacy strategies. - Ensuring the digital modules are engaging, educational, and accessible to the intended audience.
CONTRIBUTION TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS The intended project will cater directly to: SDG 2: Zero Hunger - By promoting food security, improved nutrition, and sustainable agriculture through the educational digital modules. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - Through the incorporation of health insights into agriculture. SDG 4: Quality Education - By producing educational resources that target a diverse audience to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education. SDG 5: Gender Equality - AMRAN's objectives are clear about promoting gender equality and ensuring women-friendly work environments. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals - Through collaboration with Online Volunteers to achieve a more sustainable and inclusive Afghanistan.
TASK DISTRIBUTION Distribution of tasks among the Online Volunteers: 1. Digital Agriculture Module Design: Support in managing the project. Bridges the gap between agricultural experts and digital content specialists to translate modules into engaging digital content. 2. Agriculture and Food Systems Expertise: Ensures knowledge dissemination and shaping of the educational curriculum. Develops advocacy content for sustainable practices and educates various audience groups, including policymakers. 3. Agriculture Health Expertise: Provides guidance on health-centric sustainable agriculture practices. Advocates for consumption of locally-sourced, nutritionally-rich crops. 4. Media Expertise Support (2 positions): Transforms insights from both the Agriculture and Food Systems Expert and the Agriculture Health Specialist into video content. Collaboratively create engaging storyboards and balance content for a wider audience reach.
INFORMATION GATHERING & COMPILATION The Online Volunteers are primarily expected to curate and design content based on their expertise. They will collaborate with AMRAN NGO for specific information and content. However, for in-depth and technical information, they are expected to tap into their expertise and experience or research as necessary. Their primary role is not just to collate, but also to enhance and present information in an engaging and educational manner suitable for the intended audience.
