Duties and Responsibilities This consultancy is located in the Strategic Talent Management Service (STMS) in the Global Strategy and Policy Division (GSPD) of the Office of Human Resources (OHR), Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC). The consultant will report to one of the Co-Chiefs of the Organizational Development Section (ODS).

The 2021-2025 Learning Strategy highlights that the present learning resources in the UN Secretariat are developed and delivered in a very fragmented environment. Different learning management systems (LMS) are in use centrally and in entities; there are arrangements with learning partners for some content; there is licensed e-learning content (LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft); and collections are maintained in department SharePoint repositories. The user experience is confusing; there is no common entry point where a staff member, team, or manager can be guided about how to best meet their learning goals. This calls for a need to develop a common learning agenda and an consolidated learning curriculum to support professional growth and build capabilities across the Secretariat for the delivery of mandates at a dynamic pace, and in a cost-effective manner.

The Organizational Development Section (ODS) is responsible for designing approaches to build a working environment that embraces the widest possible spectrum of diversity and provides an enabling and gender-sensitive workplace. It also builds a culture of engagement, leadership, accountability and result-orientation, based on the organizational values and competencies. With this organization-wide mandate, ODS plays key role in the implementation of the 2021-2025 Learning Strategy and developing innovative solutions for learning and skills development in cooperation with a wide range of partners.
