Overview
Provide case management and outreach for Ukrainian families in Sacramento.
You have:
- Associate or BA degree with an emphasis in Social Work, Migration Studies, Public Health, Refugee Studies, Development, Immigration Law, or an equivalent field of study; or 1+ years of related professional experience; preferably with asylum-seeking families, refugees, internally displaced persons, or individuals without status.
- Previous case management and/or victims assistance experience in a social service, non-profit setting preferred.
- Previous multi-cultural experience and demonstrated ability to communicate well with people of varied backgrounds strongly preferred.
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
- Excellent writing and organizational skills with the ability to effectively summarize large amounts of information and maintain records of case progress achieved.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across cultures, build trust, and convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date physical and electronic files and detailed case notes, enter required data in a timely manner, meet all case reporting requirements within established timelines and standards.
- Understanding of the U.S. immigration system and the rights of immigrants.
- Comfortability collaborating with governmental agencies and community providers.
- Fluent in English and Russian or Ukrainian, both written and verbal communication skills is required.
- Strong computer skills required. Prior experience using data and tracking systems strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration across all of IRC’s programs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy and access to reliable transportation.
