The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the representative office of the Secretary-General. We support programme implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UNHABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing Administrative, conference, Security and information services (www.unon.org).

UNON’s Human Resources Management Service (HRMS) is seeking to form a roster of facilitators with specialization in different areas to run a series of professional skills training as an when the need arises. Some examples of the type of programmes to be run are: online presentation skills, supervisory skills, innovation, career development in the UN, client orientation, work-life balance, etc.

UNON may request for the facilitators to either develop new materials or to deliver existing content.The facilitator will be responsible for the following under the direct supervision of the Staff Development Officer in charge in the Talent Development Unit (TDU):

Duties and Responsibilities - Advise TDU on possible content and methodology according to training needs - Develop and prepare training content in consultation with TDU and HRMS management - Deliver workshops online or in-person at the Gigiri office as needed, utilizing engaging methodology and learning resources - Engage participants to ensure active participation during the workshop - Participate in workshop evaluation after its completion if required - Report on participation at the conclusion of the workshop

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A first level degree in adult education, teaching or related field is required.

Professional Diploma in the area of adult education or teaching with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the bachelor’s degree. Experience: A minimum of ten years of training design and facilitation experience. Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogic and adult learning. Demonstrated experience in presentation and communication skills.

Prior experience preparing and facilitating workshops on the topic of Harassment is desirable. Language: Fluency in English is required
