Wahana Visi Indonesia is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to work and collaborate to empower the most vulnerable children, family and community through community development, advocacy, and emergency response for sustainable transformation regardless of religion, race, ethnic or gender.

Since 1998, Wahana Visi Indonesia has carried out various community development programs focusing on children. Hundred thousands of children in Indonesia have been benefited from WVI’s accompaniment program. Wahana Visi Indonesia is a trusted partner of World Vision International.

Key Responsibilities:

This position has overall responsibility for the Cocoa Life Project which funded by Mondelez International. This position will be based in Palu – Central Sulawesi. The Team Leader will ensure that the program is implemented in accordance with the program design, quality objectives, timeframe and budget. TL will leads and manages project implementation through operating model and coordinate with donor and Cocoa Life implementing partners to ensure that the necessary coordination, collaboration and cooperation, between local stakeholders, inclusive of WVI is maintained and enhanced.

Strategy Development & Planning

  • Development and implementation of the Cocoa Life three year (32 months) strategy in consultation with management and the donor.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an annual plan, including budget, resource plan and key program milestones.

  • Leading for identify, adjustment and determined advocacy strategy (CAP and Community Development) including preparing advocacy materials from internal and external references.

  • Coordinate revision of plans and budgets in response to monitoring, reflection and learning with the community and the program team including donor and implementing partner.

Resource Acquisition & Management

  • Coordinate program activities across partner’s teams to ensure that the program has a systematic and integrated approach as described in the program design document (PDD).
  • Development and monitoring of annual plan and budget.
  • Ensure the program meets LEAP (including financial and variance reports) and donor requirements.
  • Prepare program budgets in consultation with key partners for management and donor approval and ensure funds are spent in alignment with budgets in a timely manner.
  • Monitor program expenditures to ensure that they are within the project budget and in accordance with Wahana Visi Indonesia financial policies.
  • Ensure the effective management and engagement and engagement of key stakeholders and partners to maximize program impact and success.

Capacity Building and Technical Support

  • Contribute to the development of an effective program, which considers programming goals and methodologies, funding mix and networks.
  • Conduct research needed into appropriate approaches and strategies which may include literature reviews, networking with other stakeholders, conferences and forums.
  • Provide technical advice capacity development support to operating model partner
  • Support program specialists in the development of their annual project plans and budgets.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to specialist staff on project planning and implementation, as required.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, annual and final reports as a basis for capacity building and performance management including actively participation in PoP Quarterly Meeting with Donor.

Accountability & Quality Assurance

  • Review program-level documents to ensure alignment with zonal strategy and feasibility of targets.
  • Ensure that the processes of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation are performed on time and with high quality.
  • Ensure integrated and comprehensive program implementation within the target villages and with all stakeholders and partners.
  • Ensure monitoring system and tools are developed and used by all staff to track the progress of project implementation, carry out ongoing adjustments to program plans and management in light of changing context, resources, and opportunities; and to capture learning.

Networking & Coordination

  • Active participate in regular coordination with Donor both online and offline including facilitate Donor monitoring visits to program locations and coordination meeting with Government, program stakeholders and program beneficiaries
  • Coordinate with zone and national grant management to ensure coordinated and effective program implementation.
  • Proactively and positively represent WVI to internal and external partners and stakeholders to support the organisation’s development aims.
  • Develop robust networks and excellent relationships with stakeholders in support of key program messages to increase understanding and support for WVI’s cause and ministry.
  • Develop robust networks and dynamic relationships with religious institutions, especially faith- based organizations (Church and Muslim FBO), to support and establish cooperation for transformational development;
  • Coordinate with like-minded GOs, NGOs, FBOs to increase partnerships and strengthen advocacy messages.
  • Coordinate with implementing partners and government offices in district level and province level.

Management and Leadership

  • Provide line management for the program including performance management, coaching and capacity building.
  • Provide overall leadership for program staff recruitment, retention, capacity building (including caching and mentoring), workload management, and orientation;
  • Create an enabling and positive team environment where staff are able to develop their talents and grow in their development sector skills, knowledge and professionalism
  • Model a biblical view of leadership

Professional Experience:

Essential:

  • Program and staff management

  • Program Cycle Management

  • Program financial monitoring

  • Development of program reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of diverse development sector experts/specialists

  • Strong partnering and stakeholder management experience with private sector and government offices

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economic empowerment, community development and Environment or a related field required

Desirable, Experienced in:

  • Working with international Donor and Government

  • Leading for program implementation in economic empowerment, community development and Environment

  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (Program and Financial)

  • Agricultural and/or forestry experience (both practical and formal)

  • Practical experience in sustainable agriculture

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

  • Ability to work and produce high quality outputs in an intense & dynamic working environment, with local staff having different working styles and different levels of competencies is essential.

  • Ability to perform well under pressure and comply with donors & partnership deadlines is essential

Language Requirements

Ability to communicate in English both verbal and written is a must
