The UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy (PDA) is an annual 10-month-longeducational platform for young people from Central Asia and Afghanistan aimed at building connections with the region's youth, creating a culture of conflict prevention, in line with UNSC Resolutions 2250, 2419, and2535 on YPS and the UN Youth Agenda.
Each year, the ten best students are selected to have a unique opportunity to participate in the annual Deputy Foreign Ministers meeting and address the most pressing issues of their generation in an open dialogue with government representatives. Young men and women join this unique platform to voice their concerns and propose concrete solutions to the challenges that young people consider crucial for the peaceful development of their countries.
To further highlight and enhance the PDA results, the UNRCCA team is seeking to collaborate with a qualified Online Volunteer through this assignment. The Online Volunteer will closely support the UNRCCA team by creating layouts for two online publications to highlight the youth engagement in the Central Asian region.
The UNRCCA is seeking the support of a motivated Online Volunteer to create layouts (including images, typography, colours, and sizes) for two online publications for the annual Deputy Foreign Ministers meeting. Each publication is about 15 pages and it is a compilation of speeches of young people on regional challenges.
The online volunteer will be responsible for delivering the following tasks within the specified timelines: a) Graphic Design: 1. Create visually appealing design in the required formats. 2. Collaborate with the project team to understand design requirements and target audience. 3. Provide creative input and suggestions to improve the visual impact of organization's communication materials.
b) Layout: 1. Layout and format the final document 2. Arrange text, images, and other visual elements in a visually pleasing and user-friendly manner. 3. Ensure consistency in fonts, colours, and formatting throughout the document. 4. Collaborate with the content team to understand the content requirements and adapt the layout accordingly. 5. Deliver final document in digital formats suitable for online distribution and printing.
The assignment will be fully virtual, Online Volunteer will be provided with further details of the assignment and the design guideline during the online orientation.
Selected Online Volunteers are expected to start the assignment on 21 October 2024
Proven experience in creating publication layouts that are visually appealing and engaging for donors and policy makers. The selected online volunteer will be responsible for the entire design, including typography, imagery, general layout and other core elements of two publications. The selected online volunteer will join a collaborative creative process with the UNRCCA team to create a final product that will convey required messages to the audience.
