The UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy (PDA) is an annual 10-month-longeducational platform for young people from Central Asia and Afghanistan aimed at building connections with the region's youth, creating a culture of conflict prevention, in line with UNSC Resolutions 2250, 2419, and2535 on YPS and the UN Youth Agenda.

Each year, the ten best students are selected to have a unique opportunity to participate in the annual Deputy Foreign Ministers meeting and address the most pressing issues of their generation in an open dialogue with government representatives. Young men and women join this unique platform to voice their concerns and propose concrete solutions to the challenges that young people consider crucial for the peaceful development of their countries.

To further highlight and enhance the PDA results, the UNRCCA team is seeking to collaborate with a qualified Online Volunteer through this assignment. The Online Volunteer will closely support the UNRCCA team by proofreading the materials for two online publications to highlight the youth engagement in the Central Asian region.

The online volunteer will work closely with the team preparing two online publications - each about 15 pages, a compilation of 10 speeches (250 words each), introductory comments and small illustrative case studies (each about 250 words).

The online volunteer will support the following tasks: - Review and Edit Documents Proofread a variety of documents for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors, ensuring clarity and coherence. - Ensure Consistency in Formatting Check for uniformity in formatting styles across documents (font size, spacing, headings, bullet points, etc.). - Verify Terminology and Glossary Ensure the correct usage of industry-specific terminology, verifying consistency in word usage, jargon, and names. (Youth engagement in Central Asia, regional cooperation among Central Asia countries). - Improve Readability Offer suggestions to improve the readability of texts, simplifying complex language without altering meaning. - Check for Factual Accuracy Verify facts, dates, and names to ensure accuracy, especially in reports, proposals, and datasets. - Cross-check References and Citations Ensure that all references, footnotes, and citations follow the required format and are properly listed. Follow specific style guidelines (APA, Chicago, etc.) as per the organization’s needs. - Collaborate with Authors and Team Communicate with authors and team members to clarify any ambiguities or unclear passages in the documents.
