The UNDP “STEPping up Nature Reserves Capacity – STEP4Nature” project aims at conserving Lebanon’s natural capital and strengthening the Ministry of Environment’s capacities to plan and sustainably manage protected areas and nature reserves. The project will specifically contribute to the enhancement and improvement of nature reserves in Lebanon from institutional, socio-economic and technical perspectives. The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in coordination with the Ministry of Environment of Lebanon.

Lebanon's nature reserves often lack effective social media strategies, limiting awareness of their conservation efforts and ecotourism benefits. By developing and supporting a targeted social media outreach plan, these reserves can boost their visibility, branding, and highlight their importance to local communities, enhancing engagement and appreciation of their ecosystem services.

We are looking for one (2) Online Volunteers who under the guidance of STEP4Nature Project Officer and in close collaboration with the nature reserves management teams support us by developing social media outreach plan for two of Lebanon's Nature Reserves. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to: - Collect information on document/material background such as data, design style, branding guidelines etc.; - Develop and support in the execution of an effective social media plan aligned with the nature reserve goals and target audience preferences. - Leverage the latest trends and best practices to maximize reach, engagement, and brand visibility across social media platforms. - Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of social media campaigns, utilizing analytics tools to provide insights and recommendations for optimization. - Support in the management of the social media accounts (mainly Facebook and Instagram), including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and responding to customer inquiries and comments promptly and professionally. - Create and maintain relevant and engaging content tailored to the nature reserve, utilizing a mix of text, images, videos, and other multimedia formats.

The Online Volunteer/s will have the opportunity to build connections with both the STEP4Nature Project team at UNDP and the Nature Reserves management teams and learn about the ways in which graphic design can support conservation efforts in Lebanon.

Candidates should have a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Experience in social media management or a similar role. In-depth knowledge of the latest digital and social media industry trends, features, and best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different social media platforms and target audiences.
