The UNDP “STEPping up Nature Reserves Capacity – STEP4Nature” project aims at conserving Lebanon’s natural capital and strengthening the Ministry of Environment’s capacities to plan and sustainably manage protected areas and nature reserves. The project will specifically contribute to the enhancement and improvement of nature reserves in Lebanon from institutional, socio-economic and technical perspectives. The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in coordination with the Ministry of Environment of Lebanon.

A preliminary assessment undertaken among existing Nature Reserves in Lebanon has revealed that most lack logos that reflect their identity, and existing ones often need upgrading to be more appealing and modern. A unified and well-designed logo for Lebanon's Protected Areas (PAs) needs to be developed to positively influence social attitudes, enhance the attractiveness of these areas, and gain support for their conservation.

We are looking for one (1) Online Volunteer who under the guidance of STEP4Nature Project Officer support us by developing a comprehensive corporate identity for Lebanon's nature reserves, including a unified conceptual design for the logos that highlights their shared commitment to conservation and sustainability while reflecting each reserve's unique identity. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to: - Collect information on document/material background such as data, design style, branding guidelines, etc.; - Develop a perception survey to identify public preferences for Lebanon nature reserves' corporate identity traits; - Based on the survey results, create a draft design for the conceptual logo; - Develop the design according to agreed requirements and feedback.

The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance.

The Online Volunteer/s will have the opportunity to build connections with the STEP4Nature Project team at UNDP and learn how graphic design and the development of corporate identities for nature reserves can support conservation efforts in Lebanon.

Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing corporate identities, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills. A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.
