What we are looking for:

The purpose of the Regional HR Adviser is to support the country offices (COs) in the implementation of global HR systems and initiatives in accordance with NRC policies and procedures and to support building sustainable capacity in HR structures and systems in Country Programmes.

What you will do:

Key objectives for this role include:

  • Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures
  • Provide strategic advice and technical support to the Country Offices in the region on HR.
  • Support and monitor compliance with the HR handbooks and NRC policies, and respective quality assurances
  • Provide control checks to the COs to ensure compliance with the HR handbook, pre-agreed through travel visits to the country offices.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, strategies, tools, and new approaches, with a focus on innovation and piloting.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Management and a trusted adviser for a regional portfolio to influence and offer guidance on relevant people priorities and initiatives including support in delivering high-quality HR Operations advisory service.
  • Coach, advise, and guide on all aspects of the employee lifecycle for the implementation and development of people policy and practice within the designated portfolio.
  • Contribute to talent management initiatives and regional collaboration to increase Learning and Development capacity, workforce, and succession planning.

  • Share best practices on operational HR issues with other regional counterparts in NRC, through regular fora for cooperation (operative issues).

What you will bring:

Generic professional competencies:

  • A master’s degree within HR related field or at least 4 years of documented experience working as a senior HR professional in a humanitarian context.
  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts with an international humanitarian organisation.
  • Demonstrated capacity to establish rapport, gain commitment from stakeholders at all organizational levels, and exhibit strong collaborative skills for building relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proven ability to persuade and inspire cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support and deliver HR strategies.
  • Solution-oriented and creative problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is an added advantage.

What we offer

  • Duty station: Amman, Jordanز
  • Contract: 1 year. The position could be extended, based on fund availability.
  • Travel: Up to 40% to Countries of operation in MERO
  • Salary/benefits: grade 9 on NRC’s salary scale.
