WHO Country Office in Slovakia deals with a constant influx of materials that require translation, ranging from partnership agreements and communication materials to health-related information and more. It will be needed to translate the documents, which is provided from Country Office between English and Slovak languages.
We are currently seeking for 5 Online Volunteers who can commit to providing stable support for 4 weeks in the field of translation between Slovak and English.
To this end, the Online Volunteers are asked: - To translate the documents, which is provided from Country Office between English and Slovak languages, which means documents and text, no more than 5 pages A4 per week. The responsibility of the Volunteers with such a translation tasks will take no more than 10 hours per week (on average 6-8 hours) - Ensure the translation is concise, in line with the communications guidelines, and fits the target audience
Translation is required for documents regularly produced by the country office, including: - Information about WHO health-related recommendations - Texts on the health campaigns - Translation of publications from the WHO website - Translation of the text for the social networks - Any other relevant materials.
The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in the original language and will receive guidance on the target audience and our communications guidelines as well as other guidance as needed.
Candidates should be native in Slovak language and fluent in English. Familiarity with technical terms related to the health and well-being topic will be considered an advantage. Previous translation experience is considered an asset.
