This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under the supervision of the Chief of Integrated Warehouse Section, the incumbent will carry out the following duties:

  • Undertake assignments as determined by the Section’s Data Quality & Assurance Cell to troubleshoot and correct inventory anomalies.
  • Conduct floor-to-sheet and sheet-to-floor verification of stocked cycle counted inventory.
  • Identify and report significant stock discrepancies for further investigation as required.
  • Conduct random material checks at any point of inbound, put away, issue, or disposal processes to ensure compliance with existing policies to mitigate errors, loss, or damage to stock.
  • Ensure warehouse operators correctly label bins and stock product identification to facilitate the quick location of inventory.
  • Closely collaborate with the Property Control Unit for the identification and inspection of High-value stock cards.
  • Receive and process requests for inventory and issue them to clients as required.
  • Willingness to accept short term assignments in Port Sudan and all Darfur Regions.
  • Develop and implement capacity development and knowledge sharing program with appropriate national colleagues.
  • Support the process for the disposal or transfer of surplus stock as required.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

First level University Degree or an Advanced Diploma in Purchasing, Materials Management is desirable.

Required experience:

24 Months

Experience remark:

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in general supply, asset management, property control (PCIU) related disciplines.
  • Significant administrative experience collating relevant information for investigative research in an international environment with impeccable drafting skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office suites – Word, Power-Point and Excel Spread sheets.
  • Good computer skills, ability to produce reports, and spreadsheets. Knowledge of database management stock and inventory management in a commercial enterprise is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP ERP/UMOJA eCC is an advantage.
  • Have affinity with or interest volunteerism and the UN System.
  • Sound security awareness.

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • Arabic(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
