The Cities Alliance is now preparing a multiyear engagement in the North Africa and MENA region (countries including but not limited to Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, and Mauritania) with a focus on water access, women’s empowerment, and inclusive local governance. The programme will be implemented through procurement and grants to local NGOs. Against this background, the Cities Alliance is seeking a Project Management Support Analyst who will work directly under the supervision of the Project Manager, to support the PM in maintaining and strengthening relationships with implementing partners and local retainers in the selected countries.

Functional Responsibilities

1. Provide assistance to Project Manager during project life cycle, contributing to activity design and development, grant management, monitoring and evaluation, and closure, by performing the following tasks:

• Provide written inputs for reports, proposals, terms of reference, requests for proposals, or call for proposals;

• Edit and revise inputs, documents, and tables for accuracy;

• Coordinate timely receipt of required inputs from implementing partners;

• Support the communication with the donor and key project partners;

• Read and provide written comments on monthly, milestone, and final progress reports submitted by grantees;

• Maintain milestone schedule table to ensure that activities, reporting and payments are on time;

• As requested, visit project activities in the field to verify reported information.

• Assist supervisor in the follow up to monitor the work of the implementing partner as per approved training, work plans, task orders and budget

2. As assigned by the Project Manager, assume responsibility for project support administrative activity or task within the Project portfolio, maintain updated information, respond to information requests and provide updates as may be required;

● Draft well-written, properly researched, and edited narrative inputs for reports, terms of references, and proposals, as requested, which are free of grammatical, spelling, statistical, and factual errors;

● Support coordination, organization, and reporting of city coordination meetings, focus groups, and other key meetings in each project location (Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Mauritania);

● Support coordination of capacity development trainings and workshops by organizing events;

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education

● University degree (Bachelor) preferably in sustainable development, gender, social science, or related disciplines.

● Masters degree is an asset, not a requirement

Experience

● Minimum two years experience related to project management support, research and/or communication is required

Languages

● Fluency in written and oral French and English is required.

● Knowledge of German, Spanish or Arabic is an asset

Travel

Willingness to travel in the North Africa and MENA region is required.
