Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

Peace in focus, UNITAR's brand-new magazine about youth and peacebuilding was launched on Oct. 26 and now we want to promote it with strategic partners and stakeholders.

ABOUT THE MAGAZINE Readership: who is the content for? ⮚ The magazine speaks to the widest audience possible but with a special focus on the youth. It should respond to the youth expectations and areas of interest raised in the UN75 “The future we want, the UN we need” final report.
⮚ To connect the people to the UN and show the readers how UN SDG 16 actually translates into reality and concretely improves their living conditions. ⮚ To reach and catch the attention of those who are not familiar with the UN and its operations on the ground. ⮚ Not an institutional publication: though created and published by UNITAR, the magazine is not an institutional report.

What are we talking about? ⮚ Editorial of commendation and appreciation: to pay tribute to the people in the field. ⮚ A bottom-up approach to show how people and individual actions contribute to the global achievement of peace. ⮚ To give a voice to the voiceless and put faces on the many unknown heroes on all continents who are daily peace-makers and dedicate themselves to making sure people around them have better living conditions, protecting civilians and preventing conflict and bring them into the limelight. To give them the opportunity to be heard and seen and increase their visibility. ⮚ To combine information and the sharing of testimonials from peace-makers to understand their mission, expectations and conclusions and provide insight into their experiences. ⮚ In accordance with UN core values, a special emphasis shall be given on inclusivity and diversity, especially youth and women’s participation.

The UNVs selected for this assignment will have the opportunity to manage a 2000+ data base of contacts, filter it and make sure there are not repeated entries. Then, they will have the opportunity to share an interactive magazine about Youth and Peacebuilding with the contacts on the data base, highlighting the magazine features and how it is relevant for the contact's field of work.
