Job Description

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. In response to the increased refugee arrivals into Europe, in October 2015 the IRC began responding in Serbia and later expanded to other countries in the Balkans to assist refugees during their journey through Europe. As a result of the March 2016 border closures along the so-called “Balkan Route”, the IRC has adjusted its programs to assist refugees and migrants stranded across Balkan countries while still supporting people on the move. The Balkans programs are implemented in close partnership with local non-governmental organizations and government institutions.

Job Overview/Summary:

- It takes care of the functionality of all devices, installations, and physical objects within the production facilities and yard

- Takes care of the external appearance of buildings and yards, as well as their constant improvement

- Performs checks, preventive maintenance, and constant improvement of all devices and installations and is responsible for their efficiency and safety.

- Performs all other tasks as ordered by the Employer

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the organization and cleanliness of the office, remove garbage daily

• Inventory Control - communicate to supply/procurement when supplies are needed

• Trash removal

• Distribute necessary mail through the post office

• Maintain, clean, and organize garbage enclosures, dumpsters, and/or garage compacter rooms, including deodorizing and power washing as needed

• Snow Removal – responsible to make sure property is always clear and accessible during snowfalls

• Scheduling repairs that warrant special technical skills.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

• Holder of a valid driving license.
