Help bring the #ConnectedByITU campaign to life online and spark conversations about global connectivity.

You have:

  • Passion for communication and technology: Interest in ITU’s mission, global connectivity, and emerging technologies.
  • Social media savvy: Familiarity with platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube and willingness to explore new channels.
  • Community engagement: Experience in volunteering, outreach, or advocacy work is a plus.
  • Creative thinking: Ability to come up with engaging visuals and messages to spark interest in the campaign.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to track distribution, collect data, and follow up on campaign activities.
  • Education level: A degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Areas of specialization: Content creation, communications and marketing, social media management, or related fields.
  • Experience: Previous experience in social media management, content creator or influencer, experience in developing communication outreach, excellent communication and writing/editing skills.
  • Experience in raising awareness about an issue and translating it into understandable concepts among target audiences is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of online marketing and media tools and channels is highly desired.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations agency for digital technologies, is commemorating 160 years of connecting the world. As part of this milestone, ITU is launching the #ConnectedByITU Digital Sticker Campaign on Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook. As an online volunteer, you will help bring this campaign to life online by using your creativity, social media skills, and networks to spread the message of global connectivity. Your role will help spark conversations about the impact of technology and the importance of digital inclusion — while highlighting ITU’s 160-year legacy. Become a digital advocate for global connectivity. As an online volunteer for the #ConnectedByITU Digital Sticker Campaign, you’ll help amplify the story of innovation and the power of technology to bring people together — no matter where they are.

• Creatively share campaign stickers on Instagram, WhatsApp, and/or Facebook, using them in stories, status updates, reels, and direct messages to engage your audience. • Post eye-catching visuals and use the hashtags #ConnectedByITU and #ITU160 to increase reach and visibility. • Tag official ITU accounts (Instagram: @ituofficial, Facebook: ITU) and encourage your network to participate in the campaign. • Help amplify ITU160 messaging, highlight ITU’s contributions to global tech innovation, and inspire others to learn more and share the stickers. https://www.itu.int/160/story/itu-is-for-everyone/ • Each online volunteer will share 2-3 posts on their social channels throughout the 8 weeks.
