ITU is at the forefront of enabling environmentally sustainable digital transformation. Recognizing the pivotal role of digital technologies in climate action and sustainable development, ITU is committed to greening the digital transition and minimizing its environmental impact. Over the years ITU has developed a wide range of online content spread across different webpages related to the role of digital technologies in climate action and sustainable development. ITU’s climate website (itu.int/climate) update aims to systematically link to this information and provide a comprehensive overview from a single location.​ The volunteer will play a key role in developing updated content to help reach and inform new audiences.

We are looking for an online volunteer to write engaging content for the web, taking into consideration SEO requirements, using supplied research and background information. The task includes the following responsibilities: - Transform supplied research into accessible and informative content written for the web - Draft five web articles of around 800 words each on different aspects of ITU's work on environmental sustainability - Ensure SEO best practices are observed when writing web articles

The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the Environmental Focal Point at International Telecommunication Union, learn about the historical and contemporary role of digital technologies and the United Nations in advancing climate action, and contribute to updating the ITU climate website.

We are looking for a volunteer who has extensive online written content development experience, including having a good understanding of SEO and its importance. The preferred candidate will have good time management skills, ability to work independently, and excellent writing skills. A background in environmental studies or a related field will be beneficial. Candidate must be fluent English speakers.
