After the publication of Humanitarian Response Plans for El Salvador in 2023, a secondary data analysis will allow to produce a comprehensive, updated analysis of the humanitarian situation.

The volunteer will be responsible for secondary data review of the humanitarian situation in El Salvador. Volunteer will search qualitative data sources such as articles, reports, survey findings, and baseline information and extract excerpts containing specific information or a data summary. These information sources will include publicly available data and information on the internet, and; country operations will identify other data sources. The online Volunteer will enter and structure secondary data against agreed analytical framework categories/domains, and will also be requested to summarize the findings and contribute to analytical reports. The Online Volunteer will be provided remote training and work in a team, while also be asked to attend weekly meetings in the Americas time zone.

Expertise in qualitative research methods and analysis is desirable. Bachelor degrees in International Relations, Political Science, Social Science, or related disciplines with humanitarian or development experience is preferred. Good knowledge of El Salvador social is an asset. Persistence, self-motivation, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are assets. Experience in tagging secondary using DEEP is desirable. Experience of working in or knowledge of the country in focus is desirable. Good spoken/written English and Spanish is required.
