Conduct comprehensive analysis of humanitarian situations in El Salvador.

You have:

  • Expertise in qualitative research methods and analysis is desirable.
  • Bachelor degrees in International Relations, Political Science, Social Science, or related disciplines with humanitarian or development experience is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of El Salvador social is an asset.
  • Persistence, self-motivation, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are assets.
  • Experience in tagging secondary using DEEP is desirable.
  • Experience of working in or knowledge of the country in focus is desirable.
  • Good spoken/written English and Spanish is required.

After the publication of Humanitarian Response Plans for El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala in 2021, a secondary data analysis will allow to produce a comprehensive, updated analysis of the humanitarian situations.

The volunteers will be responsible for secondary data review of the humanitarian situation in El Salvador. Volunteers will search qualitative data sources such as articles, reports, survey findings, and baseline information and extract excerpts containing specific information or a data summary. These information sources will include publicly available data and information on the internet, and; country operations will identify other data sources. Online Volunteers will enter and structure secondary data against agreed analytical framework categories/domains. The information will also be tagged and summarised against different geographical administrative levels, affected population groups, sectors, and other required categories using the Data Entry and Exploration Platform (DEEP - http://thedeep.io/). Volunteers will also be requested to summarise the findings and contribute to analytical reports. Each volunteer will be provided remote training and work in a team. . Online Volunteers will also be asked to attend weekly meetings in the Americas time zone.
