Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

This UN Volunteer assignment is in the Recruitment Centre of Expertise (RCOE) in the Division of Human Resources (DHR). RCOE plays a leading role in providing content expertise related to recruitment and talent acquisition solutions that are tailored to the business needs of the Organization. Among other tasks, RCOE is responsible for managing the global talent groups for international professional (IP) roles, as a strategic tool to support the organization to meet talent needs.

The Human Resources Specialist (Talent Groups) will support in the management and optimization of talent groups, to facilitate fast, efficient and effective selection processes; and will work closely with RCOE team members and in collaboration with Human Resources Business Partners supporting different Divisions.

Under the guidance of the supervisor and in consultation with Division Human Resources Business Partners: • Conduct mapping of talent groups in Talent Management System (TMS) and document guidance on the application of the Talent Group (TG) mappings under concise review of the selection process. • Review RCOE report on the outcome of quality assurance of talent groups in TMS and implement the endorsed corrective action. • Support in the management of talent groups, taking a lead in the management of TG data dashboard to ensure timely and accurate placement of candidates in talent groups. • Support the enhancements and monitoring mechanisms of TG dashboards, to ensure availability of missing data and correction of system errors in collaboration with the relevant sections. • Support the management and implementation of the United Nations Mutual Recognition of Rosters by participating in consultations with business owners to facilitate the expansion of roles that UNICEF contributes to and documenting relevant guidance for hiring offices on the use of the roster. • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance of local talent groups by conducting spot checks and sharing feedback with the relevant offices on areas of improvement. • Support other talent group related projects in the team as requested. • Perform other duties as required.

Summary of National UN Volunteer (National Specialist) Entitlements: Paid in Local Currency • Current Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) is USD 1,360 • Private insurance: Health, dental, life and dismemberment coverage by CIGNA As per the UN’s diplomatic mission status, it is not included in the National Security Institution’s (SGK) system, but can only be initiated on a private basis by UN Volunteers. • Entry allowance (one-time payment): USD 400 • Exit allowance: USD 113 per month and upon the satisfactory completion of assignment • Annual leave: 2.5 days accrued per calendar month • Free access to different learning platforms and UN & UNV network

Notes: 1) The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward or salary in exchange for the volunteer work. 2) It's important to note that UNV assignments are volunteer assignments, not employment.

The purpose of the allowances and entitlements paid to UN Volunteers is to enable UN Volunteers to sustain a secure standard of living at the duty stations in line with United Nations standards without incurring personal costs. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer’s service. Remarks:

In addition to duty station specific vaccine requirements, appointments are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the appointment. It does not apply to UN Volunteers who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their contracts.
