Overview

Provide HR operations support and analysis for USAID Mission in Zambia.

You have:

  • A Zambian citizen or a non-Zambian citizen lawfully admitted for permanent residence in Zambia without needing a work permit.
  • Experience in human resources management and administration.
  • Knowledge of USG and host country regulations and policies related to human resources management.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze human resources data and related reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist serves in the Executive Office and is responsible for providing people operations and administrative support to USAID Mission in Zambia. USAID/Zambia Headquarters are located in Lusaka, Zambia, with five provincial offices across Zambia. The job holder is HR Team’s data analyst, providing HR data and metric reporting to US Embassy, USAID Mission leadership, USAID/Washington and Executive Office for effective workforce planning and decision making. Regularly updates, prepares, and submits periodic and ad hoc people related reports (OPS, staffing patterns/reports, staffing numbers as needed, post-profile, etc) and serves as the liaison with the US Embassy., personnel actions (contracts, compensation, promotions, etc.), processing documentation for incoming and outgoing employees, compensation and benefits plan administration, labor relations, preparation of responses for salary survey requests as well as other related duties.

The HR Specialist provides advice on broad variety of USG and host country (Zambia) regulations, policies, laws and procedures, both, related to Human Resources management, administration and contracting for all categories of employment.

This is a Cooperating Country National (“CCN”) position. CCN means an individual who is a Zambian citizen, or a non-Zambian citizen lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the country and without needing a work permit.
