You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field is required.
  • Experience in recruitment and/or talent management is highly desired.
  • Experience in learning and development is highly desired.
  • Good ability to identify issues, conduct rigorous research, and make conclusions and recommendations.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

The Division of Human Resources (DHR) works with partners and clients to ensure that UNICEF's most important resource – our highly skilled and incredibly dedicated people – are provided with the work environment and support to give their best for every child.

This UNV assignment is in the Recruitment Centre of Expertise (RCOE) in the Division of Human Resources (DHR). RCOE plays a leading role in providing content expertise related to recruitment and talent acquisition solutions that are tailored to the business needs of the Organization. The UNV Human Resources (HR) Specialist will support coin the development tools, resources and guidance and delivery of strategic talent acquisition solutions. including the management and optimization of talent groups, to facilitate fast, efficient and effective selection processes. The UNV HR Specialist will work closely with RCOE team members and in collaboration with the Talent Development section.

• Under the guidance of the supervisor and in consultation with Talent Development team, support in the research and development of online capacity building learning modules for the HR Community and hiring managers. • Support in monitoring and reporting on the completion of the recruitment online learning modules. In collaboration with Regional Office HR, develop mechanisms to ensure offices’ compliance to panel accreditation requirements. • Promote engagement and exchange of lessons learned and best practices on the implementation of the new Staff Selection Procedure amongst the HR Community. • Support in the design and development of monthly updates on recruitment tips and tricks for hiring managers and HR Community. • Review the existing recruitment resources and guidance material and contribute to their updates, as required. • Manage the RCOE SharePoint Page, ensuring the content and resources uploaded are up to date and drive real time engagements on VIVA Engage. • Support in the change management and capacity building on the guidance on use of talent groups in recruitments. • Support implementation of key initiatives related in the RCOE, as needed. • Perform other duties as required.

Summary of National UN Volunteer (National Specialist) Entitlements: Paid in Local Currency

• Current Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) is USD 1,360 • Private insurance: Health, dental, life and dismemberment coverage by CIGNA As per the UN’s diplomatic mission status, it is not included in the National Security Institution’s (SGK) system, but can only be initiated on a private basis by UN Volunteers. • Entry allowance (one-time payment): USD 400 • Exit allowance: USD 113 per month and upon the satisfactory completion of assignment • Annual leave: 2.5 days accrued per calendar month • Free access to different learning platforms and UN & UNV network

Notes: 1) The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward or salary in exchange for the volunteer work. 2) It's important to note that UNV assignments are volunteer assignments, not employment.

The purpose of the allowances and entitlements paid to UN Volunteers is to enable UN Volunteers to sustain a secure standard of living at the duty stations in line with United Nations standards without incurring personal costs. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer’s service. Remarks:

In addition to duty station specific vaccine requirements, appointments are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the appointment. It does not apply to UN Volunteers who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their contracts.
