We are seeking a talented individual to join our Talent Development Team in Istanbul, Turkiye and help us transform our learning approaches and processes in leadership development. Specific responsibilities:

  • As the primary learning focal point for UNICEF's senior leadership positions, you will be responsible for developing and implementing talent development strategies for UNICEF’s leaders, that will enable talent acquisition, comprehensive development, succession management, knowledge management. As a member of the UNICEF Talent Development Team, you will lead the capacity development of UNICEF's leaders and managers, ensuring they are empowered to lead intentionally. You will work closely with counterparts in the Talent Development team, GSSC and the HR community to strengthen leadership capability and managerial capacity.
  • In addition to designing and implementing strategies for senior leadership capacity development, you will lead the design of learning programs and curricula for staff in the senior leadership pipelines. You will also be responsible for coordinating and supervising the development of learning initiatives to strengthen the capabilities of senior leaders to deliver on strategic and other organizational priorities e.g. the Strategic Plan, Culture Change, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • You will collaborate with other learning focal points in UNICEF to prevent gaps, overlaps, and duplication of effort. You will act as the liaison with UN Agencies to capitalize on suitable learning programs for UNICEF while building partnerships with academic institutions and other organizations.

In addition to the above specific responsibilities, you will contribute to the general team responsibilities as below.

  • Work closely with HR Business Partners to provide tailored programmes or coaching to meet specific needs of leaders.
  • Coordinate management reporting and work plans to ensure alignment with the UNICEF Strategic Plan and organizational frameworks.
  • Support the implementation of effective budgeting practices and contracts management.
  • Work closely with the Global Learning Centre, to support learning analytics, knowledge management, and evaluation to ensure our learning programs meet objectives and quality standards.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (master's or higher) in human resource management, strategic leadership, business administration, public administration, social sciences, or any other related field(s) is required.
  • Eight years of professional work experience in Human Resources is required.
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing management and leadership programmes in a professional capacity in a global/international organization is required.
  • Knowledge of strategic management, organizational leadership and executive development is required.
  • Demonstrable record of aligning learning strategies to organizational strategy is required.
  • A demonstrated history of excellent facilitation skills is required.
  • Demonstrable understanding of how adults acquire and use knowledge, skills, and capabilities; and of individual and cultural differences in learning is required.
  • Professional certification in instructional design or adult education and knowledge of organizational psychology is highly desirable.
  • Professional certification or additional training relevant to learning or leadership development is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in executive coaching is an asset.
  • Experience in change management and in developing and sourcing learning programmes for HR is an asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are required for this role.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
