Duties and Responsibilities UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank, and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East with more than 30,000 staff. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions.

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of organizational design compensation and staff relation division HQ Amman Specific tasks related to this consultancy are: ¿ Assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, and other graphic deliverables for compensation work. ¿ Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements by using IT and graphical skills and analyzing the existing gap in area job description and Developing plans to implement solutions. ¿ Enhancing the Knowledge management of ODCSR Division.

DELIVERABLES

The deliverables for this consultancy are directly linked to the outputs outlined above. The consultant is expected to complete these deliverables monthly.

Qualifications/special skills Advanced university degree from an accredited educational institution in Business management or any other relevant field. At least 1 year of relevant experience in research and/or evaluation in human resources is required. A minimum of 1 continuous year of relevant international experience outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport, or a national identity number is required.

Languages Excellent command of spoken and written English and knowledge of Arabic language.

Competencies ¿ Ability to collect, validate and analyze qualitative data ¿ Advanced analytical skills and ability to conduct independent research. ¿ Ability to design, manage and implement qualitative data ¿ Excellent team leadership skills ¿ Proven writing and analytical skills ¿ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

¿ The expected start date is 15 September 2023; end date is 31 December 2023 ¿ The consultancy will be based in UNRWA HQ in Amman, Jordan ¿ The Consultant works under the overall supervision and guidance of the chief Organizational Design Compensation & Staff Relation Divion. ¿ Remuneration for this consultancy will be with lump sum of 7000 $. ¿ Payable: ¿ 40% at the contract signature. ¿ 40% at the midpoint. ¿ 20% at the completion of the contract.
