Job Description

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is one of the world's leading crisis response agencies, providing life-saving assistance and supporting recovery and reconstruction for people affected by war and natural disasters. Active in public health, education, livelihoods, women's empowerment, youth development, and protection and promotion of rights, IRC assists people from harm to home.

The IRC was registered in Uganda in mid-1998 and implements rehabilitation activities in the sectors of Child and Youth Protection and development, Health, Economic recovery and Development and women protection and empowerment as well as contributing to the response to the Southern Sudanese Refugee situation. IRC Uganda has a head office in Kampala, field offices in Kitgum, Karamoja, Kyaka, West Nile and in Kiryandongo.

Scope of Work: Reporting to the HR and Admin Officer, the HR & Admin Volunteer is responsible for providing support for day-to-day administrative requirements, functions, and general office management of the IRC Kampala office.

Duties and Responsibilities: •Support in creation of new staff personal files. •Support recruitment exercise including sorting, long and shortlisting of applications. •Supporting in drafting interview reports. •Updating the existing personal files and ensuring they have the necessary information. •Organizing the whole filing system according to staff T7s. •Assisting in stamping all HR related documents. •General organization of HR Office documents/paperwork. •Support in induction processes. •Any other official duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

•A bachelor’s degree in human resource management, or related field. •Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. •Knack for detail. •Able to communicate effectively. •Strong computer skills especially in MS excel and word.
