English to Burmese Translation and Proofreading: IASC Guidance on Localization

The document is a guide to strengthen the participation, representation, and leadership of local and national actors in IASC humanitarian mechanisms.
The Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility is seeking the support of two volunteers to translate and proofread 1 Word document (20 pages, 7460 words) from English to Burmese. One volunteer will translate the document, and the other will proofread the document afterward. The volunteers will be asked to start as soon as possible and work on the document full-time in order to finish the translation and proofreading within 4 weeks. The volunteers will be able to strengthen their knowledge of localization and child protection during the process of translation. The work of the volunteers is highly valuable and will allow making the document available to Burmese-speaking audiences.
The volunteer should be fluent in English and Burmese. A background in translation, child protection, humanitarian action, or human resources is an advantage. Previous translation experience of translating to Burmese (especially documents related to human resources, child protection, or humanitarian action) is an asset. The volunteer needs to be able to work under tight deadlines.
