Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

OCHA’s new learning platform, OCHA Learn, hosts courses and micro-courses targeting OCHA personnel at large. Courses are categorized into Foundational, Thematic/Technical areas, Strategic areas, and areas relating to the UN Core Values and Behaviors.

The Learning and Development team is working with OCHA functional teams responsible for OCHA’s areas of work (Humanitarian Access, Negotiations, Gender equality, and other) to develop theme-based e-learning courses and micro-courses. These materials draw on various content sources available internally, such as existing training materials, PPT presentations, video recordings, guidelines, articles and other knowledge products.

To capitalize on this knowledge and ensure it benefits all OCHA Personnel, the Learning and Development team is envisioning the creation of short courses and micro-courses, including in the following areas:

• International Humanitarian Law – microlearning series • Accountability to Affected People (AAP) • Humanitarian Access and Negotiation • Climate Change and Environmental action • Administration and Finance

The Learning and Development Team is now seeking the help of one Online Volunteer who can help design one or more courses/micro-courses for upload to the OCHA Learn platform. The assignment should be completed online.

We are seeking one online volunteer to undertake the following tasks: • Review theme-specific content, including approximately 8-10 PPT decks, 3-5 Video recordings, 10-12 Brief guidance documents, training materials and other, which will be selected and made available by the Learning and Development team. • Where needed, support excerpting selected video or recordings cuts; reformat, curate and edit contents, as required.
• Develop between 1-3 short courses (up to 1 hour duration) and/or micro-courses (up to 20 minutes duration) based on a curated selection of contents using Articulate authoring tools (Rise, Storyline). Create SCORM packages as needed. • Support uploading and testing contents (SCORMs and/or other formats) on OCHA Moodle based platform.

The online Volunteer will work in collaboration with LDU team (Learning and Development Officer, Assistant and one Intern) who will provide guidance and support as required.

The online volunteer should: • Have a working knowledge of Articulate 360. • Have experience with Instructional Design. • Be familiar with the Moodle platform. • Have excellent English language proficiency. • Have attention to details. • Experience with graphic design is desirable. • A good understanding of humanitarian-related topics is a plus.

The role will involve collaborating with the learning and development unit regularly, preferably through MS Teams and email.
