The UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation, and Sustainable Development (based in Singapore) is working with the UNDP Global Small Island Developing States (SIDS) team to learn what young people (aged 18-35) think about digital and digital technologies in SIDS around the world. It is this generation that will shape the next generation of technology, and this survey will be important in guiding efforts to best support digital development in small states. This will be the largest ever global youth mapping of the digital economy in small island states. Voices from small island states tend to be underrepresented, and we hope this study will begin to change that. We’re making use of an interactive chatbot to administer the survey on channels where young people are: WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook Messenger.

The UNDP Global Centre is looking to work with an Online Volunteer with a strong background in quantitative analysis of data. In particular, an individual able to identify insights from larger datasets. We have 3,500+ textual responses to a 13-question survey and are keen to explore this data to generate new insights. We are especially interested in Online Volunteer with experience conducting Latent Class Analysis. The Online Volunteer must have access to suitable software or applications (e.g.: R Studio, Stata, etc.) to conduct this assignment.
