MDF's objectives are aligned with the UN Global Goals - to foster climate mitigation and adaptation initiatives, focusing on nature/ecosystem-based solutions.
With our projects, we intend to: • Support sustainable development activities that deliver conservation outcomes and climate benefits and contribute to the economic well-being of the people of PNG including customary landowners - while lessening the dependence on activities that degrade the environment; • Increase knowledge and understanding of biodiversity and climate issues by raising public awareness, promoting environmental education, and supporting field-based research; • Build the capacity of local stakeholders to manage and implement biodiversity, climate, and economic development projects carried out in harmony with conservation objectives; and • Support the country’s efforts to meet its national, regional, and global conservation and climate commitments.
Our projects are ongoing. Currently, we are preparing several documents/reports, for which we need the support of online volunteers with experience in writing and editing.
The 3 online volunteers will do the following tasks: 1) 2 online volunteers will be tasked to use materials/documents about the projects and based on that, fill in the reports 2) 1 online volunteer will be tasked to edit the report - double-check information (if needed), make editorial changes, check grammar, clean out formatting etc.
Detailed tasks: - Use current documents to fill in reports - Rewrite text to make it easier for readers to understand - Whenever possible, verify and cross-check facts cited in documents/reports - Read content and correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors - Work and communicate with other volunteers and the MDF team - Approve final versions
The selected Online Volunteers would be required to start as soon as possible. In your application please let us know your preference to perform task 1 or 2.
The selected Online Volunteers are expected to provide the following supports: - reviewing, editing and structuring an existing proposal on biodiversity conservation in collaboration with the contact person from the Foundation. - provide technical advice and recommendation to build a proposal before submission to the donor agency. - researching keywords to complete the proposal and to arrange references in APA format by using the automated Mendeley software available online.

Candidates should have professional experience with writing (either academic writing or report writing).
