Morobe Development Foundation Inc. (MDF) is dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering women in Papua New Guinea. Understanding the psychological and socio-cultural barriers that women face is crucial for creating effective programs and policies. This research forms part of MDF’s ongoing initiative to address gender inequality and strengthen women’s participation in community development and decision-making, in alignment with SDG 5 (Gender Equality).

The project, titled “Psychological Foundations of Women’s Empowerment in Papua New Guinea”, examines key factors such as self-confidence, societal expectations, and social perception. Findings from this research will help MDF design evidence-based community programs that empower women and enhance inclusivity in local development.

MDF seeks five Online Volunteers with complementary expertise in writing, data analysis, data visualization, literature review, and project coordination. The combined efforts will result in one comprehensive research report, three analyzed data sets, and a set of 8–10 visual outputs. MDF intends to publish the final report on its official website and share it with partner organizations and academic networks.

MDF seeks five Online Volunteers with complementary expertise in writing, data analysis, data visualization, literature review, and project coordination. The combined efforts will result in one comprehensive research report, three analyzed data sets, and a set of 8–10 visual outputs. MDF intends to publish the final report on its official website and share it with partner organizations and academic networks. The Online Volunteers will be as below:

Volunteer 1: Writing and Editing Support - Draft and consolidate main sections of the report (introduction, methodology, and conclusion). - Ensure consistency, clarity, and academic tone across all sections. - Edit the final report and prepare the executive summary and PowerPoint presentation for dissemination.

Volunteer 2: Literature Review Support - Conduct a literature review on the psychological and socio-cultural dimensions of women’s empowerment. - Summarize relevant findings from academic and policy sources to strengthen the theoretical framework. - Provide a 3–5 page literature synthesis to be integrated into the final report.

Volunteer 3: Data Analysis Support (Quantitative) - Analyze 3 data sets provided by MDF using statistical tools such as Excel, R, or Python. - Produce data tables and key findings summaries (5–7 pages) focusing on variables such as confidence, societal norms, and participation.

Volunteer 4: Data Visualization Support - Design 8–10 data visualizations (graphs, charts, and infographics) to represent the analytical findings. - Prepare a visual appendix to accompany the final report using software such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.

Volunteer 5: Research Coordinating and Quality Review Support - Support task coordination among all volunteers and ensure alignment of sections. - Review and proofread drafts for accuracy, structure, and coherence. - Prepare a one-page coordination summary report documenting the research process.
