.Irregular and poor rainfall in recent years led to a 40% reduction of planted areas in Cameroon. Severe land degradation has been observed throughout the years in Balikumbat subdivision in the North-West Region. Women farmers in Cameroon are seeking ways to improve their harvest yields, crop quality, and plant uniformity. They also seek to save water, reduce fertilizer and pesticide use, and improve their largest investment, their family and farm.

With the environment gradually degrading and the conflict forcing people to look for new ways to make a living, there is an opportunity to empower women as farmers, by training and teaching innovative farming practices for sustainable growth while building business and commerce in the region. The purpose is to develop productive, profitable farming systems which conserve the energy, are environmentally sound, and ensure food safety and quality.

CAEPA is looking for two online volunteers to support us in rewriting and editing our PSEA policy and editing two handbooks on GBV and disaster risk reduction. One volunteer will draft the required material and work together with a second volunteer editing the material, with the support of our organization. Communication will be either through emails, WhatsApp, skype. At the end, CAEPA in collaboration with UNV online will issue a certificate as a sign of appreciation.

Volunteers must have a very strong command of English. This task requires strong mastery of the English Language and its subtleties. Strong writing and editing skills are required. Familiarity with technical terms related to gender based violence and disaster management will be considered an advantage. Please attach a short writing sample to your application.
