Overview
Support WASH activities in Sahel region, focusing on community engagement and infrastructure.
You have:
- Minimum a degree in Civil Engineering, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, Hydraulic, Sanitary Engineering, or any other relevant field
- At least six months of proven experience in the technical field of WASH
- Experience in a technical field within humanitarian/recovery context
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts
- Be willing and able to travel and work regularly in the field
- Fluency in French, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of the local context (Sahel regions)
- Proficiency in one or more local languages is an advantage
- Computer skills (MS Office required, CAD Software required for hard profiles)
- Excellent verbal communication skills

Qualifications
- Minimum une licence en Génie civil, Eau, Hygiène et Assainissement, Hydraulique, Génie sanitaire au tout autre domaine d’études pertinent en lien avec le poste;
- Expérience avérée d’au moins six (06) mois dans le domaine d'expertise technique de WASH (avec un accent sur les aspects infrastructures pour les profiles hard ; communication et engagement communautaire pour les profiles soft);
- Expérience de travail dans un domaine d'expertise technique dans un contexte humanitaire/de redressement;
- Expérience de travail dans des contextes complexes et volatiles;
- Être prêt et capable de voyager et de travailler régulièrement sur le terrain (en dehors du bureau)
- Maîtrise du français, tant à l'écrit qu'à l'oral;
- Connaissance du contexte local (régions du Sahel);
- Pratique d’une ou plusieurs langue(s) locale(s) est un atout;
- Connaissances informatiques (MS Office requis, CAD Software requis pour des profils hard)
- Excellentes aptitudes de communication verbale.
Responsibilities
- Faciliter et superviser la mobilisation communautaire, les interventions pour le changement de comportement et les distributions de kits;
- Soutenir la mise en place, la formation et le suivi des structures locales de gestion WASH (comités de points d'eau, clubs d'hygiène...);
- Contribuer à l'évaluation des besoins et à la mise en œuvre des projets WASH;
- Contribuer à l’élaborations des devis quantitatifs(BOQ) et plans de réalisations et planifier des rencontres de chantiers pour les travaux de constructions;
- Participer à la définition des thèmes et à la conception des outils/matériels de changement de comportement WASH en fonction du groupe cible (autorités locales, structures de gestion, ménages bénéficiaires) sur chacun des thèmes recommandés par le programme NRC;
- Collecter et partager chaque semaine les sources de preuves/vérification des activités WASH (photos, success stories, témoignages, données épidémiologiques, procès-verbaux, );
- Faciliter et superviser les travaux de construction et/ou de réhabilitation d’ouvrages d'eau et d'assainissement, et d'autres infrastructures communautaires identifiées par le NRC;
- Soutenir le renforcement des capacités des maçons, des travailleurs qualifiés et non qualifiés et des populations locales;
- Fournir un retour d'information au responsable hiérarchique sur les biens et matériaux commandés, ainsi que sur la qualité du travail des entrepreneurs;
- Partager les observations du terrain, en particulier les commentaires des bénéficiaires, afin d'améliorer le programme.
