You have:

  • Conduct water resources assessment and identify suitable project sites.
  • Participate in resource mobilization and proposal development activities.
  • Review technical proposals and or financial bids submitted by service providers.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports.
  • Participate in the recruitment of Water Technicians.
  • Conduct field and or topographical surveys and prepare maps, layouts and design drawings for WASH Infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain project certification procedures to ensure value for money.
  • Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders for their effective participation.

Engineering Projects Implementation, Management and Evaluation

  • Conduct water resources assessment and identify suitable project sites
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop alternative sustainable design solutions for WASH infrastructure and services.
  • Participate in resource mobilization and proposal development activities Conduct field and or topographical surveys and prepare maps, layouts and design drawings for WASH Infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare design specification documents, layouts, bills of quantities and tender documents for WASH infrastructure project sites
  • Review WASH Infrastructure designs prepared by Water Technicians and or implementing partners and ensure compliance with Government and WVZ standards and technical specifications
  • Review technical proposals and or financial bids submitted by service providers and develop technical bid analyses for presentation to the Tender Committee
  • Review reports submitted by contractors and or service providers to include borehole construction, capacity test and water quality test etc and make recommendations
  • Monitor and review the quality and progress of implementation of WASH Infrastructure projects to ensure that projects are implemented within scope, time and budget.
  • Conduct field and project site visits to assess performance of WASH Infrastructure to either recommend for the rectification of defects and or to certify for payments, commissioning and handover.
  • Collate all WASH infrastructure location detail into a database and enable WASH infrastructure mapping
  • Participate in incidental contracts negotiations to ensure that projects are implemented within budget.
  • Contribute to the preparation of indicative costing and budgeting guidelines for establishing and maintaining WASH Infrastructure
  • Maintain activity or project certification procedures to ensure value for money and that WVZ pays for actual and quality works done and for functional systems.

Documentation and Reporting

· Prepare and submit progress reports

· Participate in the documentation of best practices in WASH Infrastructure development, sustainable operation and maintenance

Networking

  • Liaise with project staff to provide technical support
  • Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders for their effective participation and to ensure that WASH Infrastructure projects comply with local by-laws and regulations
  • Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure coordinated supervision of WASH related services contracted out to private sector service providers

Human Resources Management

· Participate in the recruitment of Water Technicians

· Provide technical assistance to Water Technicians and stakeholders supervising WASH Infrastructure works at project sites.

· Participate in staff and stakeholder training and capacity building activities
