Support the execution of World Vision's communications strategy.

You have:

  • A degree in Media Studies or Journalism.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design tools such as Canva and Adobe Suite.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with key social media tools (e.g. X, LinkedIn and Facebook).
  • Have excellent photography and videography skills.
  • Proven written communication skills, and a passion for writing both short and long-copy experience with content development in the development space is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress or similar).
  • Demonstrated exposure to CRM systems (e.g., Mailchimp, Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high motivation to learn.
  • A proactive, service-focused attitude towards tasks given, even under pressure.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Be prepared to travel to the field frequently.

JOB PURPOSE

The jobholder will play a key role in supporting the execution of World Vision Zimbabwe (WVZ) overall communications strategy. The role will be instrumental in working across key social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and WV website, to drive growth our digital footprint in line with the organization’s standards. In addition, the role will assist in generating & producing high-quality stories and content that will enhance the visibility of WVZ’s impact.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

  • Use basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) to create digital-ready content
  • Create and edit digital content such as fliers, newsletters, blogs, press releases, infographics, videos, etc as required.
  • Drive growth of the organizations’ social media footprint with relevant, well written and designed content for Facebook/X and LinkedIn
  • Creatively communicate the key reports on social media platforms through creation of innovative info-graphics and other compelling visuals.
  • Actively monitor maintenance of a consistent brand voice and tone across all communications
  • Collecting, Compiling and reporting impact stories on internal and external digital platforms.
  • Maintain and regularly update the communications and CRM database, support the implementation of campaigns and tracking of campaign performance metrics including open rates, click-throughs, and audience engagement.
  • Assist with event logistics (media briefings, internal events, launches, etc)
  • Provide general administrative support to the Communications team.
  • Generate monthly analytics dashboards with actionable insights.
  • Support the planning and regular updating of website content to ensure information is current, accurate, user-friendly, and SEO-optimized; troubleshoot minor technical issues; manage image and video uploads
