What we are looking for

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, resilient and dynamic Wash and Shelter Project Manager , Asosa Ethiopia.

More About the Role

The purpose of the WASH Project Manager position is to implement the delegated WASH project portfolio. The following is a brief description of the role.

What you will do

  • Line management for project staff

  • Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures

  • Contribute to the development of Country, Area and WASH strategies, initiate, and participate in the development of the WASH projects

  • Coordinate and manage WASH project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements

  • Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects

  • Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the WASH Specialist/PDM/ Advisor

What you will bring

  • Contribute to needs assessments, including protection risks and needs, and provide area specific information and input to CC PDMs/HoP and AM for proposal development

  • Responsible for development and follow-up of detailed project work plans, spending plan, M&E plan and resource plan for the WASH projects on area level

  • Scale up and diversify WASH operational capacity to ensure high standard project implementation and potential expansion

  • Overall accountable for monitoring and oversight of technical quality of WASH projects and maintain transparency of implementation

  • Support the consideration and inclusion of cash-based interventions and market-based approaches within (and across) NRC core competency responses, where appropriate

  • Overall accountable for quality assurance of NRC GORS WASH data for the area

  • Responsible for mainstreaming of protection in project implementation in line with NRC Protection Policy and guidelines.

  • Contribute with WASH specific contextual analysis with input to the contingency plan and contribute to WASH related activities as a part of RRM in the area

    What we offer

Duty station: Asosa, Ethiopia with frequent travel.

Contract: National, 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Travel: 50%.

Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s Ethiopia national salary scale.
