Under its new Cooperation Framework (Cooperation Framework) 2024-2028, the United Nations in Cambodia is committed to working with the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC), all stakeholders and the people in Cambodia to achieve inclusive and equitable development, with a special focus on the most marginalized and vulnerable, to leave no one behind. The Cooperation Framework has been designed to support the country to accelerate progress towards the 2030 Agenda and the corresponding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRCO) supports and coordinates the work of UN entities to implement the Cooperation Framework, to improve the impact, efficiency, and effectiveness of the UN’s operational activities for sustainable development. The UNRCO provides inter-agency coordination support to the UN Country Team (UNCT) and its various coordination groups. The support includes strategic planning, programme coordination, operations management, policy guidance, data management, communications, public information, and results reporting – all seeking to enhance UN coherence and improve overall programme impact to better achieve development results.

UNRCO in Cambodia is now recruiting a national communication assistant to provide support to strategic advocacy, assist in partnership building and media relations, day-to-day digital communications, publication and branding management.

• Produce creative graphic design for RCO’s outreach and communication materials in coordination with RCO communication officer. • Provide communication assistance to UN’s international celebrations, both online and offline, local, and global including develop and design social media packages for online campaign (posters, photos, short videos, blog piece, etc) and video graphing and photographing at the offline event. Support the Communication unit in other imports activities as needed. • Work with the Programme Advocacy and Communication officer to develop and produce engaging and creative content speaks to audiences in Cambodia the United Nations in Cambodia’s social media platforms and keep the platforms engaging and active.  Under the guidance of the Programme Advocacy and Communication officer, draft weekly social media plans, including crafting messages, stories, photos, graphic cards, contests, audio, video, infographics, etc.  Maintain a weekly updated social media calendar and content plans related to specific campaigns.

Results/expected outputs: 1. Develop social media package for RCO’s social media platforms and publish on them accordingly on weekly basis as given detail assignment.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan.

Entitlements and benefits:

  • Monthly Volunteer living allowance (VLA) intended to cover housing, basic needs and utilities, equivalent to USD 571.66
  • Entry Lumpsum USD 400 ( paid once)
  • Relocation costs: USD 200 at beginning and end of assignment if duty station is outside of commuting distance (as determined by UNV)

  • Annual leave: 2.5 days per month
  • Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for health, life and malicious acts
  • Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment) USD 59.52 for each month served, paid on completion of contract
