These positions are in Bangui, Bambari and Kaga-Bandoro within the Transport Section of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). The Transport Assistant at this level usually reports to the Head of the Section/Unit or to a Transport Officer. The incumbent carries out a variety of routine tasks such as assists in processing trip tickets or generating reports, assists in preparing the mission driving orientation briefing, assists in conducting practical driving tests.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Transport Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: • Assists in processing Handover and related report. • Assists in preparing the mission driving orientation briefing. • Assists in preparing and conducting written driving tests. • Assists in conducting practical driving tests. • Updates a detailed database of UN staff being assessed, tested and issued UN permits. • Assists in preparing UN driving permits for issue. • Compiles monthly insurance and accident reports. • Generate reports from the electronic vehicle monitoring system (EVMS) & Fleet Log and other reports if required. • Assist in repairs and maintenance services of UN fleet • Support workshop operations as may be required including safety aspects • Carries out any other duties directed by the supervisor

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in French is required. Knowledge of English is desirable.
