Translation of Policy Document - Spanish to English

The project supports sharing of information between States. The volunteer’s contribution is critical as the Policy document from Colombia is the first of its kind globally. Thus the volunteer’s work will support innovation, information sharing, lessons learnt and analysis across the globe. Specifically, this assignment will focus on South America- Colombia region.

Translate a CONFIDENTIAL, draft, 34-page Policy Document from Colombia from Spanish to English. The policy document is on climate change and migration, and we seek the support of Online Volunteers in translating a legal and technical policy document from Spanish to English. It requires a strong understanding of the legal language as well as the language and terminology used on the climate change and migration thematic.

The document is a draft policy from Colombia and therefore highly confidential. The UNV will be required to translate the whole document (which is 34 pages long) but not the signatures or bibliography pages, thus the approximate number of pages will be approximately 28 pages or less.

1. Necessary to have a legal background/be very conversant in legal language.
2. Necessary to have good knowledge in the climate change and migration language.
3. Necessary to be able to maintain confidentiality.
