From 2003 to date, the Ecuadorian operation resettled and changed the lives of 10,255 persons. As the security situation has further deteriorated in Ecuador with increased levels of violence, reset-tlement which has traditionally been a lifesaving intervention mechanism, has emerged as an es-sential tool providing sustainable and tangible solutions for at-risk groups such as: Survivors of Vio-lence and or Torture (75% of total submissions in 2022); Women and Girls at Risk; Children and Adolescents at Risk; minority populations such as LGTBIQ+ and people with Legal and Physical Pro-tection Needs.

Under current submission parameters UNHCR must do detailed, time-intensive screening of a high volume of cases to yield the number of referrals we currently make to the United States. In this context, under this proposal UNHCR would envisage a scale up of an estimated 500 additional in-dividuals per month. Given the target numbers, this project will require significant support for pre-pare and translate specific documents in order to achieve the monthly couta.

The Online Volunteer will accurately and competently translate the UNHCR Ecuador Resettlement Registration Forms (RRFS) from Spanish to English. The documents are used to submit the resettlement cases to Reset-tlement countries.

The records include sensitive and confidential information, as well as terms relating to the conflict in Colombia and the crisis in Venezuela. The maximum number of A4-sized pages for the document is six. Volunteers must sign a confidentiality agreement regarding the document they will translate.
