The Brazil Office of the United Nations Environment Programme seeks support to translate from Spanish to Portuguese the regional action plan for the UN Decade on Ecossystem Restoration in order to make the document widely available to stakeholders whose mother language is Portuguese. The document describes the Action Plan that Latin America and the Caribbean wishes to undertake for the next ten years to promote, improve, accelerate and scale-up ecosystem restoration in the region. The overarching vision is that, by 2030, LAC have significantly advanced in defining policies and plans and implementing projects in restoration of marine, terrestrial and inland water ecosystems at a spatial scale relevant to revert the negative impacts of degradation and, as a result, ecosystems and natural habitats across the region are in process of being restored, protected and managed sustainably.   Ecosystems support all life on Earth. The healthier our ecosystems are, the healthier the planet - and its people. The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration aims to prevent, halt and reverse the degradation of ecosystems on every continent and in every ocean. The document describes the Action Plan that Latin America and the Caribbean wishes to undertake for the next ten years to promote, improve, accelerate and scale-up ecosystem restoration in the region. The overarching vision is that, by 2030, LAC have significantly advanced in defining policies and plans and implementing projects in restoration of marine, terrestrial and inland water ecosystems at a spatial scale relevant to revert the negative impacts of degradation and, as a result, ecosystems and natural habitats across the region are in process of being restored, protected and managed sustainably. The Brazil Country Office intends to widely disclose the Action Plan in the country, also making it available to other Portuguese speaking countries, in order to boots action in all levels and among all actors - civil society, government, private sector and universities.
