PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The goal of the “Together Against Trafficking in Persons” project is to promote victim-centered identification, referrals, services, and procedures in Armenia to enhance human trafficking protection, contributing to the implementation of the Strategic Vision of Armenia on combatting trafficking.

“Together Against Trafficking in Persons” Project Officer will provide leadership in developing the technical aspects of the project related to counter-trafficking in persons awareness raising and capacity building interventions, in collaboration with Project Manager. Project Officer will develop standard operating procedures and indicators for screening vulnerable populations for labor and sex trafficking indications, supervise work of contractors and directly contribute towards development of the training curricula for the front line service providers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop standard operating procedures and indicators for screening vulnerable populations for labor and sex trafficking indications,
  • Work with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to develop a description of victim support/ reintegration services that are currently delegated to NGOs, minimum standards applicable to the organizations providing such services, as well as clearly defined selection criteria,
  • Supervise work of contractors and directly contribute towards development of the training curricula for the front line service providers,
  • In coordination with Monitoring and Evaluation staff and peer agencies develop and oversee implementation of baseline survey and monitoring/ evaluation plan for effective and efficient monitoring,
  • Report the progress and results of the awareness raising and capacity building activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher education (technical background is an asset),
  • At least 2 years’ work extensive experience at humanitarian agency,
  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience in combating trafficking in persons,
  • Extensive experience in development of training modules, educational curricula,
  • Ability and experience to supervise work of contractors,
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills in Armenian and English,
  • Good computer skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook,
  • Ability to work with databases and documents,
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure,
  • Good interpersonal skills and team building and team motivation skills,
  • Analytical and critical thinking,
  • Ability to travel locally up to 20 percent of time.
